VECV Sales Rise 7.4% YoY in July 2025 Driven by Export Surge

Eicher Motors Limited has shared the sales performance of its unlisted subsidiary, VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), for the month of July 2025. The information has been submitted to the Stock Exchanges and the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Total sales of Eicher Trucks and Buses, including electric vehicles (EVs), reached 6,940 units in July 2025, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 7.7% compared to 6,444 units in July 2024. For the fiscal year 2025–26 (April to July), cumulative sales stood at 28,113 units, marking a 9.3% increase over the 25,731 units sold in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Domestic sales of Eicher vehicles totaled 6,410 units in July 2025, up 6.1% from 6,044 units in July 2024. For the year-to-date period, domestic sales reached 26,147 units, growing 8.3% compared to 24,139 units in the corresponding months of the prior year.

Within the domestic segment, sales of SCV and Light & Medium Duty (LMD) trucks under 18.5 tonnes reached 3,409 units in July 2025, an 8.0% increase from 3,156 units in July 2024. Year-to-date sales in this category totaled 12,576 units, rising 11.0% from 11,330 units in the same period last year.

Heavy Duty (HD) trucks of 18.5 tonnes and above recorded sales of 1,692 units in July 2025, a 12.6% increase compared to 1,502 units in the same month of the previous year. Year-to-date sales for HD trucks stood at 6,272 units, up 1.3% from 6,191 units.

Domestic LMD bus sales were at 1,154 units in July 2025, a decrease of 4.5% from 1,209 units in July 2024. However, year-to-date sales showed strong growth, reaching 6,666 units compared to 6,050 units, an increase of 10.2%.

HD bus sales in the domestic market were 155 units in July 2025, down 12.4% from 177 units in the same month last year. Despite this monthly dip, year-to-date HD bus sales rose to 633 units from 568 units, reflecting an 11.4% growth.

VECV’s exports totaled 530 units in July 2025, a significant 32.5% increase from 400 units exported in July 2024. For the year-to-date period, exports reached 1,966 units, up 23.5% compared to 1,592 units in the first four months of the previous fiscal year.

Exports of LMD vehicles reached 320 units in July 2025, a 33.9% rise from 239 units in July 2024. Year-to-date, LMD exports totaled 1,247 units, up 33.5% from 934 units.

HD vehicle exports were 95 units in July 2025, an increase of 23.4% from 77 units in the same month last year. The year-to-date export volume for HD vehicles was 245 units, up 36.9% from 179 units.

Bus exports stood at 115 units in July 2025, a 36.9% increase from 84 units in July 2024. However, year-to-date bus exports slightly declined to 474 units from 479 units, reflecting a marginal decrease of 1.0%.

Sales of Volvo Trucks and Buses totaled 175 units in July 2025, slightly lower than the 178 units sold in July 2024, marking a 1.7% decline. However, year-to-date sales reached 612 units, a 3.2% increase from 593 units in the same period last year.

Overall, total VECV sales, including EVs, reached 7,115 units in July 2025, a 7.4% increase from 6,622 units in July 2024. For the year-to-date period, total VECV sales stood at 28,725 units, growing 9.1% compared to 26,324 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
