Mahindra University held its fourth annual convocation today at its campus in Bahadurpally, Hyderabad. A total of 956 degrees were conferred, including 943 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and 13 PhDs, across disciplines in engineering, management, law, and education.
The ceremony was attended by graduating students, their families, faculty members, and distinguished guests. G V Prasad, Co-Chairman and Managing Director of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, served as the Chief Guest. Anand Mahindra, Chancellor of Mahindra University, presided over the event, alongside Mohit Joshi, Member of the Board of Management at Mahindra University and CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra, and Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor of the university.
In his address, G V Prasad emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, collaboration, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving global landscape. He encouraged graduates to embrace challenges, remain open to new experiences, and work toward building inclusive and innovative professional environments.
Anand Mahindra spoke about the university’s mission to educate “citizens FOR and OF a better world,” urging graduates to uphold values such as critical thinking, ethics, and compassion. He highlighted the role of education in fostering sustainable and equitable development and encouraged students to become active contributors to societal progress.
Dr. Yajulu Medury, Vice Chancellor, presented an overview of the university’s academic and institutional advancements during the past year. He underscored the institution’s focus on nurturing innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and purpose-driven education.
This year’s convocation marked the first graduation for students from the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Arts (MA), and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Nanotechnology programs.
Mohit Joshi emphasized the growing importance of interdisciplinary expertise and industry-aligned education. He noted that Mahindra University’s collaboration with industry partners, including Tech Mahindra, supports its goal of delivering education that is both academically rigorous and relevant to future workforce needs.
During the event, G V Prasad and Anand Mahindra inaugurated new biotechnology laboratories at the university. On 2 August, Mahindra also inaugurated the Centre for Risk Management, initiatives aimed at strengthening research and innovation capabilities.
