Ather Energy Launches Rizta Family Scooter in Nepal

Ather Energy Limited announced the launch of its Rizta family scooter in Nepal on August 7, 2025, marking the expansion of the Indian electric vehicle manufacturer’s product range in its first international market. The Rizta will be available for test rides and purchases across the company’s nine Experience Centres throughout Nepal.

The launch represents Ather’s strategy to tap into the family scooter segment in Nepal, where the company has operated since November 2023. The Rizta features a 56-liter storage capacity, including 34 liters of under-seat space and an optional 22-liter front storage accessory. The scooter includes safety features such as SkidControl technology and comes equipped with a seven-inch display dashboard.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, said the company has received encouraging consumer response to its 450 series scooters in Nepal over the past two years. The Rizta targets customers who prioritize comfort and convenience for daily transportation needs.

Since entering Nepal, Ather has established nine Experience Centres and six Service Centres across the country through its national distributor, Vaidya Energy Pvt. Ltd. The company has also installed 22 Ather Grid fast chargers to support electric vehicle adoption in Nepal.

Ather initially entered the Nepalese market with its performance-focused 450 series and recently introduced the 2025 version of the 450 in the region. The company expanded to Sri Lanka in December 2024 as its second international market, where it now operates 19 Experience Centres and nine Service Centres.

Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy launched its first electric scooter in 2018. The company’s current portfolio includes two product lines: the performance-oriented 450 series and the family-focused Rizta line, offering eight variants total.

In India, Ather operates 446 Experience Centres and maintains 3,997 fast chargers and neighborhood charging stations. As of June 30, 2025, the company has installed 4,032 charging points globally, including 35 across Nepal and Sri Lanka. The company holds 318 registered trademarks, 204 registered designs, and 48 registered patents, with additional applications pending.
