American electric vehicle maker Tesla is set to expand its supercharging network in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru as it gears up to begin deliveries in India by September, a senior company executive said on Monday, as per news agency PTI .
The announcement came at the inauguration of Tesla’s second experience centre in the country, located at Aerocity in the national capital. The company opened its first such facility in Mumbai last month, coinciding with the launch of its Model Y, priced from ₹59.89 lakh.
Delhi and Mumbai remain top priorities for the EV maker, said Isabel Fan, Regional Director (South East Asia), Tesla. In the coming weeks, the company will roll out supercharging stations in Gurugram, followed by Saket in South Delhi and Noida.
In the Mumbai region, Tesla is planning new supercharging points in Lower Parel, Navi Mumbai and Thane, adding to the existing location at Bandra Kurla Complex.
“The other new market, new states… we cannot miss Bangalore very soon,” Fan said, adding that Tesla avoids making long-term promises it cannot deliver, and only shares short-term commitments it will meet.
Alongside the charging network expansion, the company will soon introduce mobile service, remote diagnostics, a dedicated service centre, and a Tesla Approved Collision Centre in India.>
