Montra Electric has launched its first Small Commercial Vehicle (e-SCV) dealership in Coimbatore, marking its entry into one of Tamil Nadu’s major industrial and logistics centers. The dealership is operated by TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution Pvt. Ltd. as a channel partner, under a strategic collaboration aimed at expanding electric vehicle adoption in the commercial transport sector.
The new facility, located on Kamarajar Road in Singanallur, will showcase the EViator, Montra Electric’s 3.5-tonne electric small commercial vehicle. Designed for intercity logistics, market distribution, and intra-city cargo operations, the EViator is positioned as a cost-effective and sustainable solution for fleet operators and businesses engaged in freight movement.
A dedicated service and maintenance workshop has been established on Sulur Road, Kurumbapalayam, to support after-sales requirements and ensure operational continuity for customers across the region.
The dealership was inaugurated by Saju Nair, CEO of TIVOLT Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (e-SCV division of Montra Electric), and Madhu Raghunath, CEO of TVS Vehicle Mobility Solution Pvt. Ltd., in the presence of customers, business partners, and industry stakeholders.
Saju Nair stated that Coimbatore’s strong industrial base and entrepreneurial environment make it a strategic market for electric commercial vehicles. “This launch reflects our commitment to providing sustainable mobility solutions tailored to the evolving needs of regional logistics networks,” he said.
Madhu Raghunath emphasized the importance of transitioning to cleaner transportation in urban and semi-urban freight operations. “The EViator offers competitive performance, durability, and a low total cost of ownership, making it a viable option for fleet modernization. Our partnership with Montra Electric aims to deliver reliable and efficient electric mobility solutions to businesses in Coimbatore and surrounding areas.”
The EViator is powered by an 80-kW electric motor that delivers 300 Nm of torque. It has a certified range of 245 km and an estimated real-world range of over 170 km on a single charge. The vehicle is equipped with advanced telematics systems to enhance fleet monitoring and operational efficiency, with claims of over 95% uptime. It also comes with a 7-year or 2.5 lakh kilometer warranty—among the longest in the Indian commercial EV segment.
This launch expands Montra Electric’s growing network of dealerships and service centers across India, reinforcing its focus on building infrastructure to support the adoption of electric cargo vehicles.
Montra Electric, officially known as TI Clean Mobility Private Limited, is part of the Murugappa Group. The company operates across four key business segments: Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Mid and Small Commercial Vehicles, Last-Mile Three-Wheelers, and Electric Tractors. Its product lineup includes the 55-ton electric truck-trailer RHINO, the SUPER AUTO and SUPER CARGO three-wheelers, and India’s first electric tractor, E-27.
With this initiative, Montra Electric continues to strengthen its presence in South India as part of its broader strategy to drive electrification in the commercial transportation sector.
