FASTag Annual Pass Sees Strong Adoption with Over 5 Lakh Users in First Four Days

The FASTag Annual Pass, launched on August 15, 2025, has registered over 500,000 users within the first four days of its introduction, according to official data. The initiative, aimed at simplifying toll payments for highway users, allows non-commercial vehicle owners to opt for a one-time annual pass valid for 200 toll plaza crossings or one year, whichever comes first, at a cost of ₹3,000.

The pass is valid across approximately 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and Expressways and can be purchased through the Rajmargyatra app or the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) website. Activation occurs within two hours of payment, enabling seamless travel without the need for frequent FASTag recharges.

Tamil Nadu recorded the highest number of Annual Pass purchases, followed by Karnataka and Haryana. In terms of toll plaza transactions using the Annual Pass, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh reported the highest volumes.

Concurrently, the Rajmargyatra app has seen a significant rise in user engagement. It has reached number 23 in the overall rankings on Google Play Store and holds the second position in the travel category. With over 1.5 million downloads and a 4.5-star rating, it has also emerged as the top-ranking government application on the platform within four days of the Annual Pass launch.

The FASTag Annual Pass is available to all non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag. Officials indicate that the response reflects growing user preference for digital, hassle-free toll payment solutions on national highways.
