Zingbus Launches Electric Premium Service for Intercity Travel

Zingbus has introduced Zingbus Plus Electric, a premium electric intercity bus service, beginning with the Delhi to Dehradun route. The initiative marks the company’s entry into sustainable long-distance mobility, combining its existing comfort and service standards with electric vehicle technology.

The launch aligns with broader national efforts to promote clean energy in transportation. By transitioning to electric buses, Zingbus aims to reduce carbon emissions, lower dependency on fossil fuels, and achieve long-term operational cost savings. The company has partnered with Jio-bp to develop charging infrastructure and support the expansion of electric mobility across key corridors.

The Zingbus Plus Electric service maintains features of its conventional premium offering, including comfortable seating, professional crew, digital booking, and 24/7 customer support. Each bus is designed for long-range performance with optimized charging to ensure minimal service interruptions.

Prashant Kumar, Co-founder of Zingbus, stated that the company plans to deploy 3,000 electric buses by 2030. Rather than replacing existing operators, Zingbus aims to support small and medium fleet owners in transitioning to electric vehicles through technology, data insights, and operational guidance.

The service is available to Zingbus pass users for ₹299 per ride and includes benefits such as free travel insurance and flexible scheduling. The company intends to operate 70 electric buses across northern and southern India within the next year, with further expansion planned.
