Volkswagen Group announced the consolidation of its Indian technology operations under the newly renamed “Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions [India]” on September 2, 2025. The strategic move brings together the company’s diverse tech teams under a single organizational structure, marking a significant step in the automaker’s global digitalization strategy.
The consolidation affects over 3,800 technology professionals across multiple Indian locations, making the country Volkswagen Group’s largest digital partner globally. The unified entity will work alongside the company’s established IT hubs in Germany and Portugal as part of what the group calls its “One Strong Global Network” vision.
According to Sidharth Yadav, Group CEO of Volkswagen Group Digital Solutions, the restructuring represents a “new chapter” for the organization. The Indian operations will focus on end-to-end product ownership and agile delivery methods while maintaining emphasis on artificial intelligence integration across business processes.
The organizational change comes with a refreshed visual identity featuring a new logo, contemporary typography, and a color scheme combining deep space blue and vivid green. Despite these external changes, the company states that its core operational values of curiosity, customer obsession, extreme ownership, and technology leadership remain unchanged.
The Indian subsidiary will concentrate on developing enterprise IT solutions and digital products for Volkswagen Group’s various automotive brands worldwide. The company has indicated that artificial intelligence will play a central role in future operations, implementing a “no process without AI” approach across its digital ecosystem.
This consolidation aligns with Volkswagen Group’s broader digital transformation initiatives as the automotive industry increasingly shifts toward technology-driven solutions and sustainable mobility options. The move positions India as a critical innovation hub within the company’s global technology infrastructure.
The restructuring is expected to enhance cross-border collaboration between Volkswagen’s international technology teams while strengthening the company’s capabilities in next-generation mobility solutions and digital innovation.
