Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced the expansion of its Creta Electric lineup with the addition of three new variants, strengthening the company’s electric vehicle portfolio in the Indian market.
The new variants include the Creta Electric Excellence and Executive Tech, both equipped with 42 kWh battery packs, and the Executive (O) variant featuring a 51.4 kWh battery pack. The expanded lineup aims to provide customers with more options across different price segments while addressing range concerns that are common among electric vehicle buyers.
Range capabilities vary by battery configuration, with the 42 kWh variants offering 420km of driving range and the 51.4 kWh variants providing up to 510km, according to AIS 040 certification standards. The enhanced range positions the Creta Electric as a viable option for both urban commuting and longer journeys.
Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer at HMIL, stated that the new variants represent the company’s commitment to making advanced electric vehicles accessible to a broader customer base. The launch coincides with the festive season, targeting families seeking sustainable transportation options.
Standard features across the new lineup include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity through a wired-to-wireless adapter. Premium features such as dashcam functionality and rear wireless charging are available in higher trim levels of both battery pack configurations.
The Excellence variant with the 42 kWh battery pack includes Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS with 20 features, surround view monitor, blind-spot view monitor, electrochromic mirror, and electric seat adjustments. The Executive Tech variant focuses on comfort features including a voice-enabled panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats.
The Executive (O) variant with the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack emphasizes extended range capability while maintaining essential comfort features. Two additional color options, Matte Black and Shadow Grey, have been introduced across the lineup.
Pricing for the expanded Creta Electric range starts at Rs 18.02 lakh for the base Executive variant and extends to Rs 24.40 lakh for the top-spec Excellence variant with home charger, all prices ex-showroom. The company offers variants both with and without home charging solutions.
The Creta Electric lineup expansion reflects the growing electric vehicle segment in India and Hyundai’s strategy to establish a stronger presence in the country’s evolving automotive landscape. The variants are positioned to compete in the compact electric SUV segment, which has seen increased consumer interest in recent years.
