Mercedes-Benz Cars increases its worldwide sales by 6% in April, with more than 200,000 units

Mercedes-Benz Cars, a division of the Daimler group that includes the Mercedes-Benz and Smart brands, sold a total of 202,686 vehicles worldwide in April, representing an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period of the year previous, according to company data.

In the first four months of the current year, the automotive corporation reached a worldwide volume of registrations of 827,716 units, which translates into a rise of 5.3% when compared to the same period of the previous year.

By region, Mercedes-Benz Cars sold 74,835 units in Europe last month, down 1.4%, and 312,966 units so far this year, up 1.2%, while in Asia Pacific their deliveries rose 17.2% in April, up to 80,243 units, and 14.4% from January, to 329,349 units.

In North America, this division of Daimler recorded a sales figure of 33,143 units in the fourth month of 2018, 3.4% more, and 126,518 units in the accumulated of the year until April, 0.3% more.

By brands, Mercedes-Benz improved its global sales by 6.6% per month, up to 192,558 units, and by 6.2% so far in 2018, to 786,862 units, while Smart delivered 10,128 units last month, a 7.5% less, and 40,854 units since January, down 9.4%.
