Kinetic Green sales cross 8,000 units in January–August, premium family e-scooter coming

August 2025, which saw customer deliveries of 104,306 electric two-wheelers, up 17% YoY, has seen three of the Top 10 e-2W OEMs register their best-ever monthly retail sales. While August sales are not its best monthly figure since its market entry three years ago, the Pune-based Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions has clocked its best monthly number for this year. The company, which has three products – the E-Zulu, Zing scooters, and E-Luna moped – sold 1,513 units in August 2025.

Kinetic Green sold 1,513 e-scooters and E-Lunas in August, taking its cumulative January–August total to 8,355 units.

Cumulative sales for the first eight months of CY2025 at 8,355 units are up 6% YoY (January–August 2024: 7,849 units) and already 73% of Kinetic Green’s total sales of 11,460 units in CY2024. Of the two e-scooters, the E-Zulu Signature, priced at Rs 84,990 (ex-showroom), uses a 2.27 kWh battery, has a top speed of 60 kph, and a claimed range of 104 km per charge. The Zing, which uses a smaller 1.7 kWh battery, has a top speed of 25 kph and a 100 km range.

TARGETING SPEEDIER GROWTH

Kinetic Green’s e-2W numbers have increased since the launch of the E-Luna in February 2024, targeted at B2C and B2B customers. In fact, the company’s best monthly sales came a month later, in March 2024 (3,969 units). Priced at Rs 69,990 (ex-showroom), the sole electric moped in India, which is the reborn zero-emission avatar of the iconic Kinetic Luna, uses a 2 kWh battery, has a 50 kph top speed, and travels 110 km on a single charge.

In an effort to spur demand for the E-Luna and its EVs, on August 26, Kinetic Green signed an MoU with IIFL Samasta Finance, one of India’s leading NBFC and micro-finance companies, to make electric mobility more accessible by providing organised and competitive financing solutions for customers across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets.

The program has commenced this month, aligning with the festive season to leverage increased consumer demand for new vehicles. Under the MoU, IIFL will act as an accredited financier for Kinetic Green’s entire range of electric two- and three-wheelers and provide retail financing solutions through its network of 370 branches across 13 states—Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal—to achieve deep penetration into urban, semi-urban, and rural regions.

UPCOMING PREMIUM E-SCOOTER FIRST OF THREE NEW MODELS

In July this year, Kinetic Green had outlined a new product-driven growth roadmap for its electric two-wheeler business. This comprises three high-performance born-electric scooters over the next 18 months that will “blend global design finesse with robust Indian engineering”.

Kinetic Green has partnered with Italy’s Torino Design to co-create a new range of futuristic scooters, which are billed to feature radical styling that will be both trendsetting and youthful. According to the company, the e-scooters are expected to hit the market next year (CY2026).

According to the company, this first of three e-scooters will be a “premium, stylish, and tech-forward family scooter. With a host of state-of-the-art features, the e-2W will be equipped with a vibrant TFT display, advanced IoT capabilities, and an intelligent digital platform co-developed with Jio Things, ensuring a connected and seamless riding experience. Offered in multiple battery variants and backed by fast-charging technology, this e-scooter is thoughtfully designed to meet a wide range of consumer preferences and budget segments.”

Kinetic Green, which is now a regular entry in the monthly Top 10 electric 2W list, will be looking to up the sales ante with the new premium performance scooter. Given that it has a strong manufacturing infrastructure and a 400-strong network of exclusive e-2W dealers across the country, the company is looking to aggressively expand this business operation.

Considering that Kinetic Watts and Volts (KWV), the EV manufacturing subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering, has recently launched the Kinetic DX electric scooter, the reborn zero-emission avatar of the iconic Kinetic Honda DX, it is likely that Kinetic Green’s upcoming premium electric scooter will share the same platform but will be cosmetically different and more tech-laden.
