VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV) announced its expanded electric vehicle portfolio on World EV Day 2025, featuring the Eicher Pro X Small Truck and Skyline Pro Electric buses currently deployed across multiple Indian cities for school, staff, airport and city transport.
The joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited revealed that 42% of its total energy requirements are now sourced from renewable energy, backed by 75 MW captive solar capacity, with plans to reach 70% renewable energy use by FY27.
VECV’s electric portfolio includes the EV-first Eicher Pro X Small Truck, the category-first Eicher 2055 EV, and the Eicher Skyline Pro Electric bus. The company has established partnerships with Charging Point Operators to provide Eicher customers access to thousands of charging points across India.
The company’s Bhopal manufacturing facility operates under Industry 4.0 principles, incorporating AI-driven energy monitoring systems and an all-women assembly line. The plant features a 52-million-litre rainwater harvesting reservoir capable of supporting operations for up to four months, supporting VECV’s goal to become water-positive by 2030.
Beyond electric mobility, VECV continues developing alternate fuel technologies including compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2ICE), and hydrogen fuel cells. The company was among the first to introduce BS-VI compliant vehicles in 2019.
