Tata Motors’ electric vehicle division, TATA.ev, has launched an enhanced version of its flagship Nexon.ev 45 model, incorporating Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology for the first time. The Nexon.ev 45 Empowered +A variant is priced at ₹17.29 lakh (ex-showroom), while the new Dark edition commands a premium of ₹20,000, bringing its price to ₹17.49 lakh.
The announcement marks a significant upgrade to India’s best-selling electric vehicle, as the company aims to maintain its leadership position in the domestic EV market. The enhanced model lineup includes additional premium features such as rear window sunshades and ambient lighting, targeting customers seeking higher-end specifications.
The newly introduced ADAS package encompasses seven key safety technologies: Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Centering System, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and High Beam Assist. These systems provide automated assistance for pedestrian, cyclist, and vehicle detection scenarios.
All variants maintain the vehicle’s 5-star Bharat-NCAP safety rating, reinforcing Tata Motors’ emphasis on passenger protection. The company continues to offer a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty for first owners, addressing consumer concerns about long-term EV ownership costs.
Since its 2020 launch, the Nexon.ev has established itself as India’s most popular electric vehicle, contributing to the company’s position as the country’s largest four-wheeler EV manufacturer. The updated model retains its C75 real-world range of 350-370 kilometers and maintains charging capabilities of 20-80% in 40 minutes.
The Dark edition features an all-black exterior treatment and leatherette interior seats, along with Vehicle-to-Vehicle charging and Vehicle-to-Load technology. Standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, 31.24cm Harman touchscreen infotainment system, and a 26.03cm instrument cluster.
The introduction of ADAS technology in the sub-₹18 lakh price segment represents a notable development in India’s evolving EV landscape, as manufacturers increasingly compete on advanced safety features rather than basic electrification alone.
Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., emphasized the company’s strategy of continuous product enhancement to deliver increased customer value and maintain competitive advantages in the growing electric vehicle market.
The enhanced Nexon.ev lineup will be available through Tata Motors’ existing dealership network across India, with immediate effect.
