Trillium CNG, a provider of CNG fueling solutions, is expanding into EV charging, and dropping the “CNG” from its name (but not yet from its service offerings). Trillium has formed a partnership with EV Connect to install EV charging infrastructure at three Love’s Travel Stops stores in California.
The charging sites will feature DC fast charging at rates of 50 or 150 kW, as well as Level 2 charging, with room to charge up to six vehicles at a time. EV Connect will operate the stations, while Trillium will build the sites and provide ongoing management. Construction is expected to be complete this fall.
Earlier this year, Trillium announced that it would begin designing, building and maintaining hydrogen fueling stations. This summer, it will begin construction on a fueling station for fuel cell electric buses for the Orange County Transportation Authority.
“Trillium has been one of the top providers of CNG services for more than 20 years, and we’ll continue leading the way in that space,” said Bill Cashmareck, Managing Director. “We believe our company name should fully reflect our offerings. By adding alternative fueling solutions like EV charging and hydrogen fueling to our portfolio we are helping customers reduce tailpipe emissions. Pairing those solutions with renewable fuels reduces the total lifecycle emission profile of our customers’ fleets.”
