Citroen India’s next launch, the Aircross X SUV, is now open for bookings, the French brand has announced. Price announcement for the Aircross X is likely to take place in the coming days. Much like the recently introduced ‘X’ editions of the C3 and Basalt, the new suffix for the Aircross signals a rejig in the variant lineup, bringing additional features to the higher trims while making the SUV more accessible in terms of pricing.
While a full reveal is still pending, Citroën has released a teaser that hints at a fresh dark green paint option and new ‘X’ badging on the tailgate. The teaser also confirms the addition of cruise control—an important feature that was previously missing from the SUV’s equipment list.
Interior details remain under wraps, but drawing from the C3 X and Basalt X updates, buyers can expect upgrades such as push-button start/stop, white ambient lighting, LED fog lamps, an auto-dimming IRVM, leatherette dashboard trim, and the option of a 360-degree camera for ₹25,000.
The Aircross X is also likely to gain Citroën’s in-car AI assistant, Cara, which can handle voice commands, deliver vehicle information, suggest optimised routes based on traffic, and more.
No mechanical changes are expected on the Aircross X which means it will continue with the 82hp, 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Higher variants will retain the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Citroën Aircross X will sit above the Basalt X in the brand’s updated lineup and will be an alternative to mid-size SUVs like Creta, Seltos the Grand Vitara and the Hyryder in the Indian market.
