SKF Showcases Rolling Mill Solutions at AIIFA Steelex 2025

SKF India showcased its Metal Mastery solutions at AIIFA Steelex 2025 to support India’s transition to green steel manufacturing. The industrial bearings manufacturer demonstrated advanced rolling mill technologies designed to improve operational efficiency and align with the country’s net-zero 2070 vision.

The company presented its four-row cylindrical roller bearings, four-row tapered roller bearings, and spherical roller bearings as solutions for heavy-load applications in steel manufacturing. These products aim to reduce wear and extend service life in rolling mill operations.

SKF’s exhibit centered on its ‘Predict-Prevent-Perform’ framework, which includes condition monitoring solutions like SKF Axios, machine health monitoring through the QuickCollect app, and asset life extension services including remanufacturing and RecondOil.

“India’s steel industry is central to the country’s net-zero 2070 journey, and its competitiveness will increasingly depend on how quickly it embraces reliable and sustainable manufacturing,” said Sujeeth Pai, Director, Industrial, SKF India. “SKF is committed to supporting this transformation by combining decades of application expertise with advanced products, digital technologies, and lifecycle services. Our focus is on enabling steelmakers to future-proof their rolling mills, cut unplanned downtime, and move faster towards the green steel agenda.”

The solutions target steel manufacturers’ requirements for reducing emissions while maintaining productivity. SKF’s approach combines bearing technologies with digital monitoring systems and lifecycle services to minimize unplanned downtime.

“At Steelex, we emphasized that reliability and sustainability have become the defining drivers of competitiveness for the metals industry,” said Sharad Jha, Business Head – Metals OEM & Aftermarket, SKF India. “Through our Metal Mastery, we brought together advanced bearing technologies, digital solutions, and lifecycle services to support steelmakers in meeting their green steel commitments while delivering consistent operational performance.”
