Piaggio Keeps Aprilia RS457, Tuono 457 Prices Steady Amid GST Revision

Piaggio India Keeps Aprilia 457 Range Accessible Amid GST Hike

Piaggio India has announced updated pricing for its Aprilia 457 range, ensuring customers remain shielded from the recent increase in Goods and Services Tax (GST) on larger two-wheelers. The revised prices come into effect from today and will apply across India.

For the Aprilia Tuono 457, Piaggio has chosen to absorb the entire GST impact, keeping its ex-showroom price in Maharashtra unchanged at ₹3,95,000. Meanwhile, the company has extended additional benefits worth over ₹35,000 on the Aprilia RS457. This includes a direct absorption of ₹15,000 from the GST-driven increase and a complimentary quick shifter valued at ₹20,500, offered with every RS457. As a result, the RS457 is now priced at ₹4,35,000 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra), inclusive of the added accessory.

The announcement comes in the wake of a significant GST revision by the Council earlier this month. Tax rates on motorcycles above 350cc were raised from 28% to a flat 40%, while smaller-capacity motorcycles saw a reduction to 18% from the earlier 28%. The changes are expected to make entry-level motorcycles more affordable, while mid- and large-capacity bikes face added cost pressure. Several manufacturers, including Piaggio, have responded by absorbing part or all of the tax impact to maintain demand and protect customer affordability.

By shielding customers from higher ownership costs, Piaggio aims to reinforce Aprilia’s appeal in India’s fast-growing mid-capacity performance segment. The company said that riders can now bring home their Aprilia 457 models “without any GST increase impact,” underlining its commitment to offering value despite regulatory headwinds.
