The new SUPER range features a 13-liter powertrain that the company claims delivers over 10% fuel savings compared to previous generations, while simultaneously reducing emissions and improving vehicle uptime.
The trucks are equipped with an advanced gearbox designed to produce torque ranging from 2,800 Nm to 3,800 Nm, which Scania says enables smoother gear transitions and extends component lifespan.
A key innovation in the SUPER series is its fuel optimization system, which increases usable fuel tank capacity to 97% of total volume. This enhancement is designed to extend driving range and reduce fleet turnaround times for commercial operators.
“SUPER is built around what matters most to you—over 10% fuel savings, higher uptime, and clear cost advantages that strengthen your bottom line,” said Silvio Munhoz, Managing Director of Scania Commercial Vehicles India. The company is positioning the launch as part of a comprehensive support package that includes service solutions and financing options.
The SUPER range specifically targets operators in mining, construction, and long-haul segments where fuel efficiency and quick turnaround times are critical to profitability. Scania emphasizes that the vehicles have been engineered and tested for Indian operating conditions.
Scania established its Indian operations in 2007 and built a manufacturing facility in Narasapura, near Bangalore, in 2011. The company operates a 37-acre manufacturing complex with a regional production center spanning 125,794 square feet.
The Swedish manufacturer has focused primarily on the mining sector in India while maintaining a service network supported by a warehouse facility in Nagpur.
The SUPER series is now available for order with customization options to meet specific customer requirements and applications. Scania has not disclosed pricing details for the new truck range.
