Valvoline Cummins India Launches India’s First Full Synthetic CK4 Engine Oil

Valvoline Cummins India has launched All Fleet Full Synthetic CK4, positioning it as India’s first full synthetic CK4 engine oil in the heavy-duty engine oil segment, specifically engineered for modern heavy-duty diesel engines and commercial vehicles meeting BSVI emission standards.

The product launch represents what the company describes as an industry-first innovation in India’s commercial vehicle lubricants sector, targeting fleet operators seeking enhanced engine protection and performance.

The new engine oil provides 60% cleaner piston performance and 60% better wear protection compared to market-standard oils meeting CK-4 specifications, according to the company. The product is backward compatible with BSIV engines, allowing fleet operators to use the synthetic oil across different engine platforms.

Speaking on the launch, Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director, Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd., said, “India is a key market for Valvoline, and we remain focused on bringing advanced, reliable solutions that support its evolving commercial vehicle landscape. The launch of Valvoline CK-4 Full Synthetic, the first of its kind in the country underscores our commitment to innovation built around real-world performance.”

Kalia added, “Designed for demanding operating conditions, this product offers cleaner engines, longer drain intervals, and stronger wear protection, ultimately helping fleets reduce downtime and improve overall efficiency.”

The oil features a high viscosity index that maintains optimal thickness across extreme temperature ranges, from hot to cold conditions. Its formulation includes enhanced oxidation control to protect engines under extreme operating temperatures and improved low-temperature properties for cold start conditions.

The product’s low volatility results in reduced evaporation losses and lower oil consumption, while its oxidation stability extends service intervals. The formulation is compatible with modern after-treatment systems including EGR, DPF, SCR, and DOC, utilizing a low SAPS (Sulfated Ash, Phosphorus, Sulfur) composition.

Valvoline’s Full Synthetic CK-4 is available through the company’s nationwide distribution network, including authorized dealers, fleet workshops, and commercial vehicle service centers.

Valvoline Cummins Private Limited operates as a 50:50 joint venture between Valvoline Global Operations and Cummins India Ltd. The joint venture engages in production, distribution and marketing of lubricants, grease, and allied products.

Valvoline has operated in the engine lubrication sector for over 150 years, having created what it describes as the world’s first trademarked engine oil brand.

The commercial vehicle lubricants market in India has been evolving with stricter emission norms and advanced engine technologies. The introduction of BSVI emission standards has driven demand for specialized lubricants that can support both new-generation engines and maintain compatibility with existing fleet assets.
