Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) has signed a memorandum of understanding with NEURA Robotics GmbH to collaborate on the development and industrialization of advanced robotics and humanoid technologies. The agreement was formalized on October 10th at NEURA’s headquarters in Metzingen, Germany.
Under the partnership, the two companies will jointly develop advanced technologies, components, and sub-assemblies for robots and humanoids. The collaboration focuses on bringing these products to market in India and other mutually agreed-upon regions.
Sona Comstar, a global mobility technology company founded in 1995, brings expertise in electric powertrains, precision engineering, and manufacturing capabilities. The Gurugram-headquartered firm operates manufacturing and research facilities across India, the United States, Serbia, Mexico, and China. NEURA Robotics, founded in 2019, specializes in cognitive robotics and develops artificial intelligence systems that enable robots to operate autonomously with basic cognitive abilities and sensing capabilities.
The partnership reflects broader industry trends toward intelligent automation. As organizations prioritize efficiency, flexibility, and safety, the adoption of robotics in manufacturing and logistics continues to accelerate globally. Advances in artificial intelligence, perception technologies, and decreasing computing costs have enabled rapid growth in both industrial and humanoid robotics markets.
Vivek Vikram Singh, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sona Comstar, said the collaboration aligns with the company’s vision to expand beyond automotive into broader mobility solutions. “By combining Sona Comstar’s engineering and manufacturing expertise with NEURA’s pioneering cognitive robotics technologies, we are well-positioned to deliver world-class solutions for the global market,” he stated.
David Reger, CEO and Founder of NEURA Robotics, emphasized the strategic value of the partnership. “The collaboration with Sona Comstar represents the convergence of two innovation leaders: one redefining mobility, the other reimagining intelligent robotics. Together, we will set new standards for innovation and scalability in one of the world’s most dynamic markets,” he said.
NEURA Robotics follows a “one-device” approach across its product portfolio, integrating all central components and sensors for artificial intelligence in a single device. The company has developed proprietary cognitive abilities, safety systems, and operating systems, with plans to launch its first humanoid all-purpose robot.
