Prevent is preparing billion-dollar lawsuit against Volkswagen

The dispute between Volkswagen and the supplier group Prevent escalates according to a media report. Prevent companies are already preparing for a lawsuit, reports the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper. A Prevent spokesman confirmed to the newspaper that a lawsuit was being prepared for damages that would be filed promptly upon completion. “This will happen in the next time.” In the industry is said of two billion euros. The exact height is not yet determined, said the Prevent spokesman the sheet. But one thing is clear, so the spokesman: The lawsuit will be “billions”. In addition to a criminal complaint for “in-deceive fraud”, because VW had never intended to comply with an agreement with Prevent companies agreement.

The Prevent Group includes several companies that automakers with parts of all kinds, including Volkswagen, VW has recently terminated several orders without notice, which Prevent does not want to accept. From the point of view of VW, the lawsuit lacks “any basis”. In 2016, it was put into a precarious position due to an “illegal delivery stop” by Prevent subsidiaries ES Guss and Car Trim.
