Ashok Leyland has commenced delivery of electric trucks to ASAT Logistics Pvt Ltd, marking a significant step in the company’s electric mobility initiatives. The commercial vehicle manufacturer handed over the first batch of four AVTR 55T Electric trucks on October 15, 2025, as part of a larger order for 24 units.
ASAT Logistics, which specializes in cement and aggregate transportation and serves as the strategic logistics partner for Shree Cement, will deploy these vehicles in its operations. The handover ceremony was conducted by Sanjeev Kumar, President of MHCV at Ashok Leyland, who presented the keys to Arvind Sarda, CEO of ASAT Logistics.
The AVTR 55T Electric trucks are equipped with lithium-ion battery technology and feature dual-gun charging capabilities. The vehicles are designed to be compatible with standard industry trailers and superstructures, allowing for integration into existing fleet operations. Additional features include automatic transmission, telematics systems, Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS), and safety equipment.
Kumar stated that the delivery demonstrates the company’s focus on sustainable transportation solutions and reflects increasing industry confidence in electric mobility technology. He emphasized the manufacturer’s commitment to delivering efficient and environmentally conscious commercial vehicles.
Sarda expressed confidence in Ashok Leyland’s vehicle quality and performance, noting that the electric trucks will support ASAT Logistics and Shree Cement’s sustainability objectives. He highlighted the partnership’s role in developing an eco-friendly transportation framework.
Ashok Leyland, part of the Hinduja Group, positions these vehicles as offering low total cost of ownership through their efficiency and advanced technology. The company views the delivery as part of its broader strategy to reduce carbon emissions in India’s logistics sector through electric vehicle adoption.
