Celcius Logistics Orders 350 Electric Reefer Trucks from Switch Mobility for ₹100 Crore

Celcius Logistics has signed an MoU with Switch Mobility for 350 electric refrigerated trucks, representing India’s first large-scale deployment of electric light commercial reefer vehicles. The deal involves an investment of ₹100 crore, covering vehicle procurement and infrastructure including parking facilities, charging stations, and driver training.

Celcius Logistics has deployed 100 trucks and plans to roll out the remaining 250 units by the end of FY26. The transaction marks the launch of Celcius Green, a vertical established with an initial investment of ₹50 crore.

Fleet Specifications

The 3.5-ton electric reefer trucks, manufactured by Switch Mobility, maintain temperatures between -25°C and +25°C. The vehicles will transport dairy products, pharmaceuticals, fruits, vegetables, seafood, and frozen foods. Each truck provides a 140-kilometer range.

The fleet includes precision temperature control, GPS-based tracking, and humidity and temperature sensors with alert systems. The operation includes dedicated charging stations and predictive maintenance scheduling.

Celcius Green will begin operations in New Delhi, followed by Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The company targets ₹50 crore in Annual Recurring Revenue in the first year and ₹250 crore ARR within five years.

“This MoU is an important step for India’s cold logistics sector,” said Swarup Bose, Founder and CEO of Celcius Logistics. “With Celcius Green, we’re taking a big step towards making cold logistics cleaner, smarter, and more future-ready. This is India’s largest EV reefer fleet deployment, and our engagement with Switch Mobility will help advance cold-chain electrification in the country.”

Celcius Logistics plans to invest an additional ₹100-150 crore to expand its electric reefer fleet and develop EV-ready cold-storage facilities and charging infrastructure along logistics corridors.

Switch Mobility is the electric vehicle division of Ashok Leyland, part of the Hinduja Group. The company has delivered over 1,950 electric buses covering 200 million kilometers and has deployed more than 1,250 electric light commercial vehicles.

“Our partnership with Celcius Logistics marks a key milestone in advancing electric mobility into the cold chain segment,” said Ganesh Mani, CEO of Switch Mobility. “This first and largest 3.5-ton EV reefer order in India showcases how sustainability and efficiency can go hand in hand. The SWITCH IeV Series EV reefer is engineered for consistent cooling performance with minimal transit loss, even when the vehicle is idling.”
