Kia India has expanded its Carens Clavis EV model range with the launch of two new trims, HTX E and HTX E [ER], priced at INR 19.99 lakh and INR 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The new variants are positioned between the HTK+ and HTX trims in the lineup. The HTX E features a 42 kWh battery pack, while the HTX E [ER] comes equipped with a 51.4 kWh battery pack. Both trims add features including a panoramic sunroof, LED lamps for all three rows, window auto up/down for all windows, ECM room mirror, wireless charger, and a two-tone steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment.
Additional comfort features include a seat back folding table, air-purifier with virus protection, leatherette seats, multi-color mood lamp with footwell illumination, and solar glass.
“The positive response, along with valuable customer feedback, has inspired us to introduce the new HTX E trims,” said Atul Sood, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India. “These additions are designed to make electric mobility more accessible, comfortable, and celebratory.”
The Carens Clavis EV, Kia’s first made-in-India electric vehicle, is powered by 99kW and 126kW motors delivering 255 Nm torque. The dual battery options provide a range of 404 km for the 42 kWh variant and 490 km for the 51.4 kWh variant. Fast charging capability enables 10% to 80% charge in 39 minutes.
Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), among 18 advanced safety features. The interior features a 67.62 cm dual panoramic display and 90 connected car features.
Kia India supports its EV customers through a comprehensive ecosystem that includes over 11,000 charging points via the K-Charge platform on the MyKia app, more than 250 EV-ready workshops, and over 100 dealerships with DC fast chargers. The Kia Drive Green platform on the Kia Connect app tracks environmental impact through digital tree planting and CO₂ savings displays.
With these additions, the Carens Clavis EV is now available in six trims: HTK+, HTX E, HTX, HTX E [ER], HTX [ER], and HTX+ [ER]. The new variants are available at Kia showrooms nationwide.
Kia India commenced manufacturing operations in August 2019 at its Anantapur facility in Andhra Pradesh, with an annual production capacity of 300,000 units. The company has dispatched approximately 1.5 million vehicles from the plant, including over 1.2 million domestic sales and more than 367,000 exports. The brand operates through 744 touchpoints across 329 cities in India.
