Hero MotoCorp to reveal Vida Ubex electric motorcycle concept EICMA 2025

Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility arm, Vida, is gearing up to make its presence felt at EICMA 2025, scheduled to take place next month in Milan. In a now-deleted Instagram post, the brand teased an all-new electric motorcycle concept called the Vida Ubex, which will be showcased alongside its existing line-up of scooters and prototypes.

From the limited teaser image shared online, the Ubex appears to be a road-focused street-naked motorcycle,  a first for Vida, which has so far only ventured into electric scooters. The silhouette reveals a USD front fork, rear monoshock, disc brakes at both ends, and alloy wheels, pointing to a performance-oriented setup. The teaser also confirms the presence of a mid-mounted motor, with the battery pack housed where a conventional engine would sit.  While technical specifications remain under wraps, the design hints at a sporty yet practical urban electric motorcycle, likely aimed at bridging the gap between city commuters and performance-focused EVs.

The Ubex Concept could very well preview Vida’s first electric motorcycle for the Indian market, signalling a major step forward for Hero MotoCorp in the two-wheeler EV space. Hero has previously confirmed a partnership with Zero Motorcycles, with both companies jointly developing a new range of electric motorcycles positioned in the 350cc and above-equivalent segment. These models are expected to debut between 2026 and 2027.

The name ‘Ubex’ appears to be inspired by the term ‘Urbex’, short for urban exploration, which aligns perfectly with Vida’s youthful and city-centric brand image. The concept could therefore be envisioned as a lightweight, agile motorcycle tailored for city riding, offering a blend of convenience, performance, and sustainability — all key factors for India’s growing urban EV market.

The Vida Ubex will enter an increasingly competitive space. Royal Enfield’s electric Flying Flea C6 is in its final stages of development and is expected to arrive by early 2026, while Ather Energy — in which Hero MotoCorp holds a significant stake — is working on a new electric motorcycle platform called Zenith, aimed at the 125cc to 300cc equivalent segments.

If positioned similarly, the Ubex could rival upcoming electric motorcycles from Ather, Ultraviolette, and even Tork Motors, while offering the strong dealership and service network advantages that Hero brings to the table. Full details of the Vida Ubex concept, including its specifications, design, and intended production timeline, will be revealed at EICMA 2025 next week. Given Vida’s growing focus on premium electric mobility solutions, the Ubex could be a glimpse into Hero’s next big evolution in the EV space.
