2025 Suzuki XBEE Revealed at Japan Mobility Show

Suzuki has showcased the updated XBEE compact crossover hatchback at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025. Pronounced CrossBee, the model has been part of Suzuki’s domestic lineup since 2017, and the version displayed in Tokyo represents its first major facelift that brings styling and mechanical updates.

Suzuki XBEE: Dimensions, platform and powertrain

The refreshed Suzuki XBEE is underpinned by the brand’s Heartect modular platform, which also forms the basis for several Maruti Suzuki models in India. Measuring 3,750mm in length with a 2,435mm wheelbase, the XBEE is very close in size to the Maruti Celerio (3,695mm / 2,435mm), underlining its compact footprint. Power comes from the familiar Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that also powers the latest Swift and Dzire in India. In Japan, the XBEE is offered only with a CVT gearbox, sending power to the front wheels.

Suzuki XBEE: Design and interior details

While the overall silhouette remains boxy and upright, the 2025 update brings a sharper and more premium look. The facelift introduces new round LED headlamps, a revised grille with silver accents, and chunkier cladding around the lower body for a more SUV-like stance.

Inside, the cabin sees a notable refresh. The new steering wheel resembles the one in the Maruti Victoris and there’s a digital instrument cluster alongside a floating-style centre console. The infotainment screen, positioned high on the dash like the Jimny, is complemented by familiar switchgear and a clever use of space with multiple storage areas around the cabin.

Suzuki XBEE:India launch details

For now, the XBEE remains exclusive to the Japanese market, with no plans for an India launch. However, given its size, platform, and powertrain, a model like the XBEE could have slotted neatly as Maruti’s answer to the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter if introduced here.
