Maruti Suzuki Records Highest-Ever Monthly Wholesale Sales in October 2025

Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported its highest-ever monthly wholesale sales in October 2025, dispatching 220,894 units across domestic and export markets. The company’s domestic wholesale sales reached an all-time high of 180,675 units, marking a 10.8 percent increase from 163,130 units dispatched in October 2024.

The performance comes during the festive season, with the company benefiting from Navratri celebrations. Maruti Suzuki had earlier estimated that its bookings during the Navratri period would almost double, projecting total deliveries of around 200,000 units during the festive period.

Segment Performance

The compact car segment, which includes models such as the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Swift, and WagonR, led the growth with wholesale dispatches of 76,143 units in October 2025, up 15.5 percent from 65,948 units in the same month last year. The mini segment, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, recorded wholesale sales of 9,067 units, down from 10,687 units in October 2024.

Utility vehicle wholesale sales showed improvement on a year-over-year basis, with 77,571 units dispatched in October 2025 compared to 70,644 units in October 2024, representing a 9.8 percent increase. The UV portfolio includes models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6. This marks a recovery for the segment, which had experienced declines in previous months, including a 21 percent fall in September.

The Eeco van recorded wholesale dispatches of 13,537 units, up from 11,653 units in October 2024. Light commercial vehicle sales, represented by the Super Carry, stood at 4,357 units compared to 3,539 units in the previous year.

Export and OEM Sales

Export sales totaled 31,304 units in October 2025, slightly lower than the 33,168 units shipped in October 2024, representing a 5.6 percent decline. Wholesale dispatches to other original equipment manufacturers were recorded at 8,915 units, down from 10,136 units in the year-ago period.

Cumulative Performance

For the April-October period of fiscal year 2025-26, Maruti Suzuki’s total wholesale sales reached 1,299,629 units compared to 1,269,852 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, showing a 2.3 percent increase. However, domestic passenger vehicle wholesale sales for the seven-month period stood at 971,764 units, down from 1,004,205 units in the same period last year.

Market Context

The October wholesale sales performance reflects the impact of the festive season on automobile demand in India, with Navratri and Diwali typically driving higher vehicle purchases. The passenger vehicle industry has been navigating a challenging environment marked by changing consumer preferences toward utility vehicles, though Maruti Suzuki executives have maintained that demand for hatchbacks remains relevant in the market.

The company’s recovery in UV wholesale sales comes as it continues to expand its product lineup in the segment to compete with rivals who have established stronger positions in the SUV market. Export sales have shown strength throughout the fiscal year, with cumulative exports of 238,763 units in the April-October period, up from 181,444 units in the previous year.
