Kia India has announced warranty upgrades to its Certified Pre-Owned program, extending certification eligibility for Kia vehicles from five to seven years and introducing warranty coverage for other brand vehicles sold through its network.
The South Korean automaker has extended the certification age limit for pre-owned Kia models to seven years, backed by warranty coverage of up to 24 months or 40,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. The company previously limited certification to vehicles up to five years old.
In a parallel initiative, Kia India has introduced warranty coverage for non-Kia brand vehicles sold through its CPO showrooms. These vehicles will receive warranty coverage of up to 12 months or 15,000 kilometres, whichever occurs earlier.
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “Kia India continues to prioritize customer-centric innovation. With the enhanced Kia CPO warranty and the launch of warranty program for other brand vehicles, we’re making high-quality, certified vehicles more accessible and trustworthy. These initiatives reflect our commitment to delivering peace of mind, transparency, and exceptional ownership experiences to every buyer–regardless of the brand they choose.”
All vehicles sold under the Kia CPO program undergo a 175-point inspection covering mechanical, electrical, and structural components. Only vehicles meeting the quality standards receive certification for sale through the network, the company stated.
Kia India achieved 100 Certified Pre-Owned outlets across 70+ cities in under three years and the company now operates 114 CPO outlets nationwide.
The company announced its certified pre-owned car business in November 2022, initially establishing 15 outlets in 14 cities. The company set eligibility criteria requiring Kia vehicles to be under five years old with less than 100,000 kilometres of mileage.
The CPO program includes financing options and digital evaluation tools. The company introduced a digital evaluation mobile application with real-time data integration and scientific pricing suggestion.
