Mahindra 3XO, XUV300 Sales Cross 400,000 Units

Cumulative sales of the Mahindra XUV300, which was reborn in a new avatar in April 2024 as the XUV 3XO, have surpassed the 400,000 sales in the domestic market. Fittingly enough, this milestone was achieved in October 2025, when Mahindra & Mahindra registered its highest-ever monthly SUV wholesales of 71,624 units and the XUV 3XO also hit its highest monthly score of 12,237 units.

FY2025, with 100,905 units and stellar 84% YoY growth (FY2024: 54,726 units), has been the best fiscal yet for this Mahindra model to date. This can be attributed to the launch of the XUV 3XO in the opening month of FY2025. In fact, the 3XO was the second best-selling SUV for M&M last fiscal after the Scorpio twins and ahead of the Bolero, XUV700 and Thar. In the first seven months of FY2026, the XUV 3XO has clocked factory dispatches of 56,637 units, down 7% (April-October 2024: estimated 61,028 units).

As a result, in the current fiscal, the XUV 3XO’s ranking in the M&M SUV stable has dropped two spots to fourth after the Scorpio N and Classic (102,514 units), Thar and Thar Roxx (71,351 units) and the Bolero (57,512 units). After the first seven months of FY2025, the 3XO’s model-wise share of M&M’s SUV sales is 15% compared to 20% a year ago.

Nevertheless, the 3XO has helped accelerate the model’s sales. Cumulative 3XO sales since its April 2024 launch till end-October 2025 at 157,542 units give the XUV300 replacement a 39% share of total XUV300/3XO wholesales of 406,569 units over the past six years and nine months. If October 2025’s record 3XO sales are any indication, expect this model to witness better sales traction in the coming months.

Since its launch in April 2024, the XUV 3XO (above right) has sold 157,542 units and accounts for a 39% of total XUV300/3XO wholesales of 406,569 units since February 2019.

The XUV3XO is the most affordable Mahindra model in India with prices starting from Rs 728,000 (ex-showroom)

The XUV 3XO is part of the utility vehicle industry’s most competitive sub-segment: compact SUVs where it battles sub-4-metre rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Kia Syros, Skoda Kylaq, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. Other sub-4-metre models like the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor also compete with the XUV 3XO.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO has a lot going for it – not only is it the most affordable Mahindra model in India with prices starting from Rs 728,000 (ex-showroom) for the base-spec MX1 1.2 petrol MT variant but it is also among the most affordable passenger vehicles in India with a panoramic sunroof. There are all of 29 variants broadly available in nine trim levels – MX1, MX2, MX2 Pro, MX3, MX3 Pro, AX5, AX5 Luxury, AX7 and AX7 Luxury. These variants offer a powertrain choice between a 111hp 1.2-litre TCMPFi turbo-petrol, a 131hp 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol, and a 117hp 1.5-litre diesel engine, with options for both manual and automatic transmissions. The 3XO’s mileage ranges between 17.96 kilometres per litre (kpl) to 21.2kpl, depending on the variant.

In August this year, the XUV 3XO became the first sub-Rs 12 lakh SUV to get Dolby Atmos and offering immersive audio in India’s first sub-Rs. 12 lakh SUV, enhancing in-car entertainment across four variants – the new REVX A, AX5L, AX7 and AX7L. The system features a six-speaker audio layout, tuned to complement the cabin architecture of the XUV 3XO, ensuring an immersive sound experience that places passengers at the very heart of the soundstage.

Last November, the 3XO aced the Bharat NCAP crash test with an overall 5-star rating, scoring 29.36/32 in Adult Occupant Protection and 43/49 in Child Occupant Protection.
