Uno Minda Ltd. has launched a portable EV wall charger designed for home and travel charging applications. The device addresses the growing demand for accessible charging infrastructure as electric vehicle adoption increases in India.
The charger delivers 3.3kW charging output and incorporates IP65-rated protection against water and dust ingress. It supports all electric vehicles equipped with Type 2 connectors, which is the standard charging interface for most EVs in the Indian market.
The device includes a smart LED display that shows charging status and error notifications in real time. Safety features include protections against overvoltage, overcurrent, and short circuits. The charger comes with a carry case for transport and storage.
Karna Markan, Head of Sales & Distribution (Accessories) at Uno Minda Ltd., noted that EV users currently face challenges related to charging convenience and reliability. The company designed the charger to address these issues through portability and universal compatibility.
The product is available through retail channels including Amazon, Flipkart, and Unomindakart. The manufacturer’s recommended price is Rs 50,000, with an introductory price of Rs 32,514. The charger includes a one-year warranty.
