Freudenberg Expands Filtration Portfolio for Cleanroom and Battery Manufacturing

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has expanded its product portfolio with advanced filtration solutions targeting cleanroom and battery manufacturing applications. The new offerings address growing demands in semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical production, and lithium-ion battery manufacturing.

Fan Filter Unit Series

The newly launched FFU series delivers laminar airflow control with HEPA and ULPA filtration efficiency compliant with ISO 14644-1 standards. The units feature EC motor technology that reduces power consumption by up to 35 percent compared to conventional systems.

The FFU series includes smart monitoring capabilities for differential pressure and filter life tracking, along with controlling options for managing larger installations through CCM software. Uniform airflow distribution and low vibration characteristics make the units suitable for sensitive production environments.

BIBO Systems with Integrated Blowers

Freudenberg’s BIBO systems incorporate integrated blower modules designed for containment applications involving hazardous materials. The systems enable safe filter replacement without operator exposure to toxic exhaust streams.

The modular stainless-steel housing provides installation flexibility, while gas-tight sealing and pressure-tested containment ensure safety compliance. The integrated EC blower maintains stable airflow during filter changeover procedures. The systems accommodate HEPA, ULPA, activated carbon, and specialty chemical filters.

NMP-Compatible Filtration

Addressing requirements specific to lithium-ion battery and lithium iron phosphate production, Freudenberg developed filter media resistant to N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone and other aggressive organic solvents used in electrode manufacturing.

Applications include dry rooms, coating lines, exhaust filtration for solvent recovery, and VOC removal using hybrid chemical filters. The NMP-resistant filters maintain mechanical integrity, particle retention, and airflow stability under high humidity and solvent vapor exposure conditions.

The product expansion responds to increasing precision requirements in cleanroom manufacturing and the rapid growth of battery production capacity globally. Freudenberg positions the new solutions as supporting both performance and sustainability objectives in these sectors.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies operates as part of the Freudenberg Group, which has maintained business operations in India for over 90 years. The Group operates 15 production sites across India with approximately 3,000 employees at 50 locations.

The company serves markets including automotive, pharmaceutical, electronics, and energy with air and liquid filtration solutions.
