MIC Electronics Wins ₹1.49 Crore Contract for Railway Station Upgrades

MIC Electronics Limited has secured a ₹1.49 crore contract from South Central Railway’s Vijayawada Division to deploy advanced passenger information systems at Annavaram and Yelamanchili stations.

The project will introduce synchronised LED train display boards, digital clocks, audio announcements, and GPS-based systems at both locations. These stations, situated on the busy Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam rail corridor, experience high daily passenger volumes requiring reliable information services.

The implementation will utilise a fully IP-based architecture with optical fibre connectivity to enable instantaneous updates and centralised monitoring. The Indian-manufactured solution includes station and platform controllers, public announcement integration, network security features, and energy-efficient displays.

“MIC Electronics is proud to partner with South Central Railway to modernise passenger information systems at ANV and YLM stations,” said Rakshit Mathur, CEO of MIC Electronics Limited. The executive emphasised the company’s commitment to delivering domestically produced digital solutions for India’s transportation infrastructure.

The contract requires completion within 12 months, with a subsequent three-year warranty and operational support period. The upgraded systems aim to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency for station personnel while enhancing passenger convenience.

MIC Electronics has previously installed passenger information and display systems at over 200 railway stations across India, supporting the ongoing digital transformation of the country’s rail network.
