Regarding the dividend recommendation of the Supervisory Board to the annual general meeting of thyssenkrupp AG, Jürgen Kerner, Second Chairman of IG Metall, explains: “We have very painful cuts to the workforce in all areas of thyssenkrupp AG: location closures, four-digit staff reductions, in some cases with layoffs, wage waiver and much more. The payout of 93 million euros deprives the company of capital, while necessary investments are partly subject to the group’s financing ability. For these reasons, the employees do not support the recommendation to the annual general meeting to pay a dividend. The final decision will be made by the shareholders at the general meeting.”
