Toyota Kirloskar Motor has expanded its customer service operations to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands with the introduction of two initiatives aimed at enhancing road safety and vehicle delivery standards.
The company launched TDRIVE, a structured motor vehicle training program, and TDELIVER, a flatbed carrier-based delivery service, at Prince Toyota dealership in Sri Vijaya Puram. This marks the first implementation of both programs in the island territory.
TDRIVE provides driver training through classroom instruction, simulator-based practice, and supervised on-road sessions. The program utilizes simulators installed in actual vehicles to prepare learners for real-world driving conditions. The initiative aligns with Toyota’s stated objective of reducing road fatalities through improved driver education.
TDELIVER, which launched nationally in February 2024, transports new vehicles from stockyards to delivery points using flatbed carriers, avoiding pre-delivery road use. The service is provided at no additional cost to customers and now covers all Toyota dealerships across India, totaling 1,000 locations. The Andaman launch coincides with the company’s 100,000th delivery using this method since its inception.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tadashi Asazuma, Deputy Managing Director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, and Arun Nair, Vice President of the Strategic Business Unit for the East Region, along with representatives from Prince Toyota.
“The launch reflects our unflinching commitment towards fostering a culture of responsible mobility through comprehensive solutions,” said Asazuma. He acknowledged the partnership with Prince Toyota in implementing the initiatives.
Sagar Khurana, Dealer Principal at Prince Toyota, stated that the programs extend beyond products and services to influence community behavior and road safety culture in the region.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi with a combined installed production capacity of 342,000 units annually. The company manufactures multiple vehicle models in India and imports select models as completely built units.
