Pune-based automotive systems manufacturer Belrise Industries has entered into a strategic partnership with Israel-based advanced armour and survivability solutions provider, Plasan Sasa, to jointly manufacture electric vehicle components for military applications in India.
As per PTI, under the agreement, the two companies will focus on introducing and adapting Plasan’s ATEMM (All-Terrain Electric Mission Module) platform for Indian defence requirements. ATEMM is a self-propelled electric platform designed to enhance operational payload capacity, energy efficiency, survivability and mobility for modern armed forces.
“This partnership represents a significant milestone in our journey to bring world-class defence technologies to India,” said Swastid Badve, Chief of Staff at Belrise Industries.
What does it mean?
The collaboration will combine Plasan’s expertise in survivability and advanced automotive systems with Belrise’s manufacturing capabilities and industrial footprint in India. The companies said that the partnership aims to deliver mission-ready solutions tailored to the operational needs of the Indian Armed Forces.
As part of the agreement, Belrise will also become an integral part of Plasan’s global supply chain, enabling cost-effective production of advanced defence systems in India for both domestic and international markets.
Gilad Ariav, Vice President – Marketing and Business Development at Plasan Sasa, said that the collaboration would support India’s defence needs while strengthening Plasan’s global supply chain through manufacturing from India.
