V-GREEN Global Charging Station Development Company and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) have entered into a partnership to jointly set up electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) at HPCL fuel stations across multiple markets in India.
According to the official press release, under the collaboration, V-GREEN will leverage HPCL’s extensive retail outlet network to develop EV charging infrastructure, aiming to improve the charging experience for EV users and support faster electrification of transport in the country.
It added that the partnership will also support the long-term expansion plans of VinFast and HPCL’s HP e-Charge brand in India.
HPCL’s widespread footprint is expected to enable quicker deployment and national-scale expansion of charging infrastructure, said the release.
V-GREEN, founded by VinFast founder Pham Nhat Vuong, focuses on investing in and developing charging infrastructure to support VinFast’s global expansion, with India identified as a key market.
The partnership with HPCL is part of broader efforts by V-GREEN, VinFast and their partners to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem in India, spanning vehicle manufacturing, charging infrastructure, after-sales services and battery recycling.
