JK Tyre Expands Passenger Car Radial Production Capacity at Banmore Plant

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. has inaugurated Phase III of capacity expansion and modernisation at its passenger car radial tyre manufacturing facility in Banmore, Madhya Pradesh. The expansion forms part of the company’s multi-phase investment plan exceeding ₹1,000 crore.

The inauguration was attended by senior leadership from JK Tyre and Maruti Suzuki India Limited, including Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi. The Banmore plant plays a key role in JK Tyre’s passenger car radial production strategy in India.

With the commissioning of Phase III, the facility’s production capacity has increased to 30,000 passenger car radial tyres per day, translating to approximately 10.5 million tyres annually. This expansion contributes to an overall passenger car radial capacity of around 16 million tyres per year for JK Tyre in India.

The Banmore plant is designed to cater to the requirements of original equipment manufacturers, the aftermarket, and export markets. The facility incorporates modern manufacturing processes and focuses on operational efficiency, quality standards, and sustainability practices.

According to the company, the Banmore facility also supports regional industrial development through direct and indirect employment generation. The plant undertakes various community initiatives in areas such as healthcare, education, livelihood development, and local sports.

JK Tyre stated that the expansion aligns with its long-term manufacturing and capacity planning strategy, amid steady growth in India’s passenger vehicle segment and evolving market requirements.
