Danfoss India and PowerNEU have established a joint venture to provide decarbonisation solutions for India’s metals and heavy industries. The partnership, formalized as Danfoss PowerNEU Private Limited, was launched with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new manufacturing facility and office in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on January 16, 2026.
The Jamshedpur facility is designed to serve steel and metals producers across Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and surrounding industrial regions. It will provide design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance services for industrial applications, delivering products from Danfoss’s portfolio including power drives, climate solutions, and power solutions.
The site will include an Experience Centre for technology demonstrations, training, and capability development focused on power electronics, climate control, and hydraulics. The facility will offer 24×7 connectivity and on-site response capabilities.
The venture responds to growing industry pressure to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency. According to Danfoss projections, 53 percent of global energy is expected to be lost as waste heat by 2030. India’s green steel demand is projected to reach 4.49 million tonnes by FY30.
Ravichandran Purushothaman, President of Danfoss India, said the partnership combines global expertise with local execution capabilities. Mandar Vaijanapurkar, Head of Drives Sales, Marketing & Services at Danfoss India, described the venture as designed to accelerate decarbonisation in core industries.
Vijay Kumar Singh, Managing Director of Danfoss PowerNEU Systems Pvt. Ltd, said the partnership brings together Danfoss’s technologies and decarbonisation solutions with PowerNEU’s engineering capabilities and local knowledge.
