Wolfsburg. The Volkswagen Group delivered almost nine million vehicles worldwide last year, almost maintaining the previous year’s level. In total, the Wolfsburg-based company handed over 8.98 million vehicles to customers, a decrease of 0.5 percent compared to 2024, as the group announced. Increases in Europe and South America were offset by decreases in China and North America.

In Europe, deliveries rose by 4.5 percent to 3.94 million vehicles. The group’s growth in fully electric vehicles was particularly strong: global deliveries of battery-electric cars (BEVs) increased by 32 percent to 983,100 vehicles, and in Europe even by around 66 percent.

Order intake also rose significantly. In Europe, BEV orders were around 55 percent higher than the previous year. The order backlog for electric cars grew by 21 percent to more than 200,000 vehicles. The proportion of fully electric models in the total order backlog is now around 22 percent. Across all drive types, incoming orders in Europe rose by around 13 percent.

CEO Oliver Blume spoke of robust development in a challenging market environment. “Our sales remain stable with around nine million vehicles delivered,” said Blume. The new models received a good response, and the product offensive will be continued in 2026.
