Hero MotoCorp has renewed its title sponsorship of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic for the fourth consecutive year, reinforcing the company’s dedication to supporting golf on the international stage.
The 37th edition of the tournament, one of Asia’s most prestigious golf events with a 36-year legacy, features a US$9 million prize pool and attracts world-class talent to the iconic Majlis Course from January 22, 2026.
Indian golfers Shubhankar Sharma and Yuvraj Singh Sandhu have received special tournament invitations from Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp. Sharma, a two-time DP World Tour winner, will make his eighth consecutive appearance at the event, while Sandhu makes his debut following a stellar 2025 domestic season that saw him win seven events and secure the PGTI Order of Merit.
The duo joins three other special invitees: former Masters champion and World No. 1 Dustin Johnson, Chilean golfer Joaquín Niemann, and English professional Eddie Pepperell.
The tournament’s star-studded field includes four-time event winner Rory McIlroy, who will aim for a record-extending fifth title. Other notable competitors include Masters winners Patrick Reed and Johnson, 2023 FedEx Cup champion Tommy Fleetwood, former Open champion Shane Lowry, and South Africa’s Jayden Schaper, currently leading the Race to Dubai standings.
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic forms a cornerstone of the Middle East’s “Desert Swing” of elite tournaments and has previously welcomed legendary champions including Tiger Woods, Seve Ballesteros, and Ernie Els.
