The Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL), which supplies electricity to Greater Noida, has commissioned a new electric vehicle (EV) charging plaza at Tilpata, expanding public charging infrastructure in GB Nagar.
Developed in collaboration with EV charging infrastructure firm Servotech, the facility is the largest EV charging station in the district. Located on the 130-metre road at Tilpata, the plaza has been designed to handle high-capacity charging requirements, including the simultaneous charging of four electric buses. It has two high-speed charging points and four charging guns, with charging capacities of 120 kilowatts and 60 kilowatts.
The facility was inaugurated over the weekend by Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar. The charging plaza is expected to serve nearby residential societies, industrial units and commercial establishments in the area.
“With fast-charging technology, users can expect to fully charge four-wheelers in just 45 minutes to 1 hour. Additionally, options for slower charging of 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers will be available, with plans for a battery swapping facility to be implemented in the future,” said Sarnath Ganguly, vice president (Operations), NPCL.
Nagar said the EV charging station would contribute towards cleaner mobility in Greater Noida. “It not only promotes sustainable transportation but also strengthens the electric vehicle infrastructure in the region,” he said.
NPCL has earlier installed EV charging stations at locations such as near the Expo Mart in Knowledge Park-2, Knowledge Park-3 and Alpha-1. These facilities are equipped with six charging points and can support up to 12 vehicles simultaneously.
Apart from public charging stations, NPCL has also begun installations within residential societies. Charging points have been set up in Gaur City 7th Avenue and Ace Divino, while work is underway in Mahagun Mywoods and Unitech Horizon.
