EKA Mobility, HPCL sign MoU to boost EV infrastructure and green energy initiatives

New Delhi: Electric commercial vehicle maker EKA Mobility has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to collaborate on sustainable mobility and green energy initiatives in India.

Under the partnership, the two companies will explore opportunities across electric mobility, charging infrastructure, battery swapping, green hydrogen and sustainable logistics. The collaboration aims to combine EKA Mobility’s electric vehicle capabilities with HPCL’s nationwide fuel retail and energy infrastructure to develop and scale clean mobility solutions.

As part of the MoU, the companies will work towards leveraging HPCL’s retail network to deploy charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicles, including battery swapping facilities where required.

HPCL operates more than 24,400 retail outlets across India and has installed over 5,300 electric vehicle charging stations under its HP e-Charge brand, providing a foundation for the expansion of EV infrastructure for commercial applications.

The partnership comes at a time when India is accelerating its transition towards low-carbon transportation, with growing policy focus on electrification and alternative fuels in the commercial vehicle segment.

The companies said the MoU is expected to support the development of an integrated EV ecosystem, spanning vehicle manufacturing, charging infrastructure and sustainable energy solutions.
