SIAM showcases multi-fuel mobility roadmap at India Energy Week 2026

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) showcased India’s evolving sustainable mobility ecosystem at India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, highlighting the industry’s shift towards multi-fuel and multi-powertrain solutions to support the country’s decarbonisation goals.

At the four-day event held from January 27 to 30 at the ONGC Advanced Training Institute in Goa, SIAM curated a dedicated Sustainable Mobility Pavilion featuring 16 production-ready vehicles and advanced technologies across electric, gas, hydrogen and biofuel platforms.

The pavilion drew participation from leading OEMs, including Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, TVS Motor Company, Bajaj Auto, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Kia India, Switch Mobility Automotive and Suzuki Motorcycle India.

Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, visited the pavilion, underscoring the growing alignment between the automotive and energy sectors as India accelerates its transition towards cleaner mobility.

SIAM said India’s mobility transition would require a diversified technology strategy rather than reliance on a single solution.

“Given India’s scale, diversity and energy priorities, a multi-fuel and multi-powertrain approach is essential,” said Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director, SIAM.

India Energy Week 2026 brought together more than 75,000 energy professionals and over 700 exhibitors from more than 120 countries, alongside policymakers, industry leaders and investors.

The event focused on strengthening India’s role in the global energy transition while advancing discussions on secure and sustainable energy pathways.
