Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday inaugurated Zetwerk Electronics’ new ₹100-crore manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The new plant will help strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing for defence, aerospace and automotive sectors. At full capacity, it is expected to create more than 1,200 jobs.
The company expects the plant to reach full production within 18 to 36 months, with room to expand further.

The inauguration was attended by Karnataka Industries Minister MB Patil, senior officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and industry leaders.

The Bengaluru unit marks Zetwerk’s entry into high-end electronics manufacturing, especially for defence, aerospace and automotive applications. It will also support production for medical devices, telecom and IT hardware. The facility builds on Zetwerk’s defence electronics capabilities after its acquisition of Pinaka Aerospace in 2022.

Speaking at the event, Vaishnaw said the government is open to industry feedback as it works towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047. ““I congratulate Team Zetwerk on the launch of this Bengaluru facility. The government is always looking to adopt what serves the industry the best and we are open to suggestions.

Let’s work together to achieve the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” said Vaishnaw. Zetwerk said the facility brings together design, manufacturing and quality control to meet global standards, while supporting job creation, skill development and reducing dependence on imports.

“Electronics manufacturing in defence demands far more than capacity. It requires precision engineering, process discipline, and uncompromising quality at every stage. With this facility, we are bringing together advanced manufacturing technologies, specialised talent, and tightly integrated supply chains to deliver complex, high-reliability systems at scale,” said
Rahul Sharma, co-founder and managing director (Precision) Zetwerk.

Zetwerk works with Indian and global companies, public sector units such as HAL and BHEL, and in some cases directly with the armed forces. The company said the new facility is expected to almost double its EV-related production in the next one to two quarters due to confirmed orders.
