San Francisco, Beijing. 20 new cities, highway tours, airport service: the Waymo robotaxi service is growing rapidly. The number of paid trips rose to 15 million in 2025 – a tripling compared to the previous year. Most recently, the Google sister company recorded almost half a million paid tours per week. This year, according to the plan, this number should at least double.
While the competition from Tesla and Amazon’s Zoox continues to struggle with technical hurdles and regulatory issues, Waymo is already planning the next expansion steps. The entry into the European market begins this autumn with the launch in London. The company’s success and determination are still underestimated there.
