UPS to Deploy 35 Electric Utility Arrival in Paris and London

The carrier continues the electrification of its delivery fleet by introducing 35 utilities developed by the British company Arrival. These vehicles will be tested in London and Paris.

UPS has made reducing its carbon footprint one of its priorities. A goal that includes the electrification of its delivery fleet. The carrier is taking another step in this direction by announcing the forthcoming release of 35 new electric light commercial vehicles in Paris and London.

Developed by the British company Arrival, these vehicles are characterized by their 240-kilometer range, their panoramic windshield and the presence on board of driver assistance systems “to enhance safety and reduce driver fatigue” . They are the result of a collaboration begun by the two companies in 2016.

“We are excited to be working with UPS to create a fully electric, affordable and modular delivery vehicle designed to deliver clean and quiet deliveries to our cities,” said Denis Sverdlov, Arrival’s President and CEO. The first copies should be deployed on the roads by the end of this year.

More generally, UPS currently operates more than 300 electric vehicles in Europe and the United States, and nearly 700 hybrid electric vehicles. The carrier also ordered 125 Tesla electric semi-trailers.
