The exhaust affair has further legal consequences for VW: Thousands of owners of manipulated diesel cars from Slovenia have filed a claim for damages Volkswagen filed. The complaint had been received, said a spokeswoman for the district court of Brunswick. She confirmed a report by the Bavarian Radio. The value in dispute is according to the US law firm Hausfeld at around 48 million euros.

At the end of last year, the legal services provider myright.de had already filed complaints from around 15,000 customers in Germany. A little later, the demands of around 2,000 Swiss customers followed.

According to the report, more than 6,000 buyers of diesel vehicles of the Volkswagen Group in Slovenia are behind the new lawsuit. According to the spokeswoman, since 2015 alone at the district court of Brunswick, 1225 lawsuits have been filed by disgruntled VW customers. So far, there are 367 judgments, a total of 390 procedures are done. Most of the sentences were in favor of Volkswagen.

Many VW customers with a manipulated diesel sue against dealer or the manufacturer. According to the latest information from circles familiar with the proceedings, there are currently about 2500 judgments in Germany, of which about 70 percent ended with a dismissal in favor of VW.
