Electric cars drive much cleaner – but they also present enormous challenges to car manufacturers. A study by the consulting firm PA Consulting describes in detail how many jobs are at risk for automakers in Europe until 2030 – and which German carmakers are best equipped for the upheavals.
The prognosis has it all: In the next 12 years, as the consulting firm PA Consulting describes it in a study, the car world in Europe will change dramatically. In the year 2030, the study authors assume that pure electric cars already hold 30-40 percent market share, hybrid cars come to 15-25 percent. Gasoline and diesel vehicles taken together then make up only a third of all new car sales.
