Opel wants to postpone wage increases

According to the dpa news agency, however, the union wants to try to achieve exact production commitments beyond the existing contract in the new negotiations of Opel. This is particularly urgent for the Eisenach plant, in which from 2019 an unspecified SUVs to be built.

By the end of the year, Opel is contractually bound to operational terminations to renounce. There is also a commitment from the French PSA Group to invest in the Opel plants by 2020. At the end of last year, Opel employed 35,700 people in Europe, 19,000 of them in Germany, with its British sister brand Vauxhall.
