For the four-year anniversary announces the production of the 100th shuttle of the brand, which goes by itself. The 100th vehicle became the European consortium AVENUE for the HORIZON 2020 project and has now rolled off the assembly line.
The project aims to promote the development of autonomous driving in Europe, focusing on the metropolises of the continent. It will not be the only Autonomous Shuttle, because the project wants to supply four cities in Europe with it.
A total of ten vehicles will be used, two of them in Luxembourg, two in Lyon (France), three in Copenhagen and three in Geneva, AVENUE launched the project on May 1 of this year and is expected to last for four years. There are 16 organizations involved. These include research institutes, public transport companies, companies and startups.
Navya also announces that its own production rate has increased over the past four years. Beside France one has also a production place in the USA (Saline in Michigan). Currently it is possible to produce 160 vehicles a year. With a further plant in the Asia-Pacific region one wants to increase the production capacity on 1.000 pieces per year.
